But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control (Galatians 5:22-23)

Spirituality is a funny thing. In the world today, the concept of spirituality enjoys widespread popularity. It’s pretty hip to declare yourself a “spiritual” person. But what does that mean exactly?

From the biblical perspective, spirituality is extremely practical.

A spiritual person is the kind of person who is loving. Joyful. Peaceful. Patient. Kind. Good. Faithful. Gentle. Who is in control of their thoughts, emotions, desires and passions.

So while most everyone considers themselves to be spiritual, let’s ask ourselves, am I really?

Am I a spiritual person?

Regardless of how you answered this question, the really good news is that that is just the type of person God would have you become.

As should be expected in Christian transformation, this process of becoming entails some death and resurrection. We won’t become…

  1. I like this! This is a good reminder and ‘eye-opener’ about being a ‘spiritual’ person. It made me think again. In fact, I am still thinking about it. I may continue to think about it for a very long time. I pray that I continue to think about it the rest of my life. Amen. Thanks.
